Audition for Theatre Arts Scholarships!

The Theatre Department offers a number of scholarships to incoming students. The scholarships are talent-based participation scholarships that may be renewable for up to four years.

What’s the catch? You’ve got to audition!  All students auditioning for Nebraska Wesleyan Theatre Arts scholarships must apply for admission and be accepted prior to the audition dates.  Students applying for scholarships need to be in the top one-half of their class or have an ACT score of 20 or higher.

Join us in New York or Chicago!

We’ll be holding auditions in New York on February 1st and 2nd, and then in Chicago on February 4th and 5th.

If you are interested in a performance scholarship, and you’re accepted for an audition in New York or Chicago, please be prepared to demonstrate one of the following:

  1. Two contrasting contemporary monologues of no more that 2 minutes each.
  2. One contemporary monologue and at least 16 bars of a musical theatre song.

Other Opportunities to Audition!

You can catch us at these upcoming Festivals:

  • Iowa State Thespian Festival: October 2012
  • Colorado State Thespian Festival: December 2012
  • Nebraska State Thespian Festival: January 2013
  • Houston, Texas: February 2013
  • Wisconsin: March 2013

When you come to Nebraska Wesleyan, be ready to spend the day meeting with theatre faculty and students, observing a class, presenting your audition, touring the campus, and maybe even seeing a show!  Our Box Office will make arrangements for complimentary tickets for you and your family.
